Babylon is mentioned 280 times in the Bible- more than any city except Jerusalem. Today if you take a trip there to visit, all you'd see is ruins and ruins. However if you take a closer look, you'd realise that Saddam Hussein actually did something to this piece of 21 square mile ancient city. He was given 30 million dollars by an oil-rich citizen of Iraq to commence the rebuilding of the ancient city. When the Gulf War ended, Saddam wanted to build a modern palace over some old ruins; it was made in the pyramidal style of a Sumerian ziggurat. He named it Saddam Hill. In 2003, he was ready to begin the construction of a cable car line over Babylon when the invasion began and halted the project.
What has it gotta do with Bible Prophecy?
"In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever. (Daniel 2:44)
God will establish a kingdom, not for a month, not for a year, not for a generation, but forever. It will crush all those kingdoms. What are those kingdoms? They're the ten kings who would loan their authority to one man, the antichrist, and the world will unite under them.
Revelations 17:12-14
The ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but who for one hour will receive authority as kings along with the beast. 13They have one purpose and will give their power and authority to the beast. 14They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings—and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.
Horn speaks of authority in the Bible.
