Today, unemployment rates have hit record highs. Britain just recorded a 7.8% unemployment rate, the highest level since Nov. 1996. Countries like the US have sort of resorted to trade protectionism. House Democrats want to require that all iron and steeel used in stimulus-funded infrastructure projects should be made in the US. Also, two Republicans sponsored a bill to impose tariff hikes on foreign-imported goods to drive people to buy local. This has generated a huge amount of negative reaction from other countries who promised retaliation if this protectionism gets worse, China amongst them. What does this mean to us?if

To those who believe in the word of God, this is just a precursor to the actual situation that is likely to occur in a few more decades. We all live in a globalised world, countries interdependent on one another. International trade is vital to each and every of our countries' state of the economy. All it takes is for one nation to practise trade protectionism and the others would follow suit. The economic decline brought about by this trade war would cause unemployment. Those out of jobs would make demands for a different economic system that places jobs, security and order over freedom and a free-market system. We could see what this would lead to - an opportunity for the antichrist to emerge.

This is precisely what happened in Germany in the 1930s, as the trade war and economic and political weaknesses helped bring Adolf Hitler to power and led to WWII.

All I'm saying is, this is a very likely scenario what would take place very soon, if not in this generation, the next. I urge all of you, readers of this blog and the word of God, to be aware of what's happening around us in these last days and realise for yourselves how God's prophecy is being fulfilled in the every passing of the days.

May God bless you with wisdom and discernment.
